The Traditional Footstool Course is a prerequisite for this course. This is an advanced course designed to progress your traditional upholstery skills to take on a complete chair, including the inside and outside back . The course is taught by master upholsterers 1 day a week for 12 weeks; which allows you to consolidate and practice the skills between each learning day.
During the course you will upholster a beech frame bedroom chair with a sprung seat and fully upholstered back; which has been designed by and made specifically for Signature Interiors to maximise your learning experiences. You'll draw on and refine the knowledge and skills learned in previous courses and acquire new skills such as pattern placement, creating templates, buttoning and van dyke joins.
Class sizes limited to 4. Lots of individual attention from master upholsterers.
Course Fees include tuition and project notes, beech wood bedroom chair frame and upholstery materials. Equipment and upholstery tools are available for use in the workroom.Your choice of top fabrics are extra - we have lots to choose from. 2m of top fabric is required.

The course is taught by master upholsterers 1 day a week for 12 weeks; which allows you to consolidate and practice the skills between each learning day.
During the course you will upholster a Victorian style fireside chair with a sprung seat and fully upholstered back; which has been designed by and made specifically for Signature Interiors to maximise your learning experiences. You'll draw on and refine the knowledge and skills learned in previous courses and acquire new skills such as hand stitched scrolls, working with curves, and fitting side borders.
